DG Tony Olikagu joins RC PH GRA to ensure no child learns on the floor.
As part of his official visit to Rivers State, District Governor of Rotary District 9141, Rtn. Chibueze Anthony Olikagu, commissioned a new set of student desks at Olanada Community Secondary School in GRA, Port Harcourt.
Donated by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA, the furniture immediately transforms the learning environment for 60 students, providing them with a comfortable and dignified space to study.
More Than Just Furniture
Speaking at the ceremony, DG Olikagu commended the club for addressing a basic yet critical need that directly impacts student dignity and academic focus.
Key takeaways from the commissioning include:
-
District Alignment: The project directly advances District 9141’s core commitment to ensure no child sits on the floor while learning.
-
Investing in the Future: The DG emphasized that providing desks goes far beyond supplying wooden furniture—it is an investment in community education and child dignity.
-
A Call to Action: He urged other Rotary clubs across the district to identify local gaps and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
“No child should learn on the floor. Together, we can change that.”
