Commissioning of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash) Facility at Community Primary School, Ozuboko Ama, Port Harcourt, Rivers State
A Glorious Day in Ozuboko: A Symphony of Service Sung by Rotary
On a bright April morning in the warm heart of Ozuboko, a ribbon was cut—and history was made.
It was more than a ribbon, more than a mere formality. It was a symbol: a blue strip of possibility, gently parted by the hands of Rotary International District 9141’s District Governor, Rtn. Chinedu Ikegwuani. Watching with wide eyes and grateful hearts were the children of Community Secondary School. Rotary had arrived—not with empty promises, but with undeniable proof.
They brought not noise, but necessity. Not applause, but impact. Six gleaming water closet toilets, each radiating dignity. Wash-hand basins, tiled to perfection. A clean, well-ventilated urinal. An overhead water tank, standing sentinel, delivering clean water through taps—each a beacon of hope.
This was more than infrastructure—it was Rotary’s poetry in motion. A bold declaration that dignity is not a privilege, but a right.
The children sang. The community gathered. Amidst the celebration, the District Governor’s voice rose with conviction and pride:
“This is what Rotary stands for—impact that endures beyond a day, beyond a season. When we invest in WASH, we invest in lives, in futures. Today, these children inherit not just a facility, but a future wrapped in dignity.”
—Rtn. Chinedu Ikegwuani, District Governor, RI District 9141
Beside him, eyes moist with gratitude and conviction, stood the CDC Chairman, Lord Deinma, speaking from the heart of the community:
“This is no small gift. You have touched generations. This project is not just for today—it will echo through the lives of our children and their children after them. Rotary has accomplished what governments have struggled to do. For that, we are eternally grateful.”
—Lord Deinma, Chairman, Community Development Council (CDC)
Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA—take a bow. You have done what great clubs do: not only serve, but inspire; not just build, but uplift.
This is Rotary at its truest—dignity carved in concrete, compassion flowing through pipes. And in a once-forgotten corner of the city, a new anthem of hope rises, powered by clean hands, open hearts, and endless possibility.
Magnificent.
